part 2 of Clash at the Creek with Maurice in the American War of Independence

Getting ready, the American defense lines are set-up
After a bit of delay, no doubt caused by the curse of setting up the table in advance thereby causing serendipitous chain of events guaranteeing the game will be delayed by a couple of weeks, Tonio and myself final got to play out the clash of the Creek scenario I posted a while ago (link).

Raising the militia with Maurice in the American war of Independence

Intro:
I have been busy chipping away at my AWI project. Recently I managed to paint up a brigade of three Militia regiments (only another 400 infantry, 45 cavalry and 4 guns to go).To mark the occasion Tonio volunteered to play an AWI Maurice game. For the scenario I raided the Black Powder rulebook and opted to play something influenced by their ACW scenario.  The idea being the American are raising the militia when the British get word of this they dispatch a force to disperse the Rebel camp

AWI scenario: Maurice meets OHW

AWI Maurice meets OHW in the escape

Intro:
Another round of Maurice AWI goodness with Tonio. This time rather than play a historic scenario I diced up a mission from Neil Thomas’ One Hour Wargames (OHW) rules.  With thirty scenario’s to pick from and options to randomly generate forces this are great source for games when you are stuck for motivation.  In the end the battle saw an American army (Blue team) trying escape the British army (Red team) after a successful raid into their territory.

The battlefield:
The battlefield is outlined below. The hills block line of sight but do not disrupt units. While the forest block line of sight and do disrupt units
