En avant for Sharp Practice

It is a more than a little hot around here. It pretty much kills the hobby motivation. I have managed to put some Victrix French for some Sharp Practice in Caribbean.  They will be painted when the temperature falls below "sweating buckets" degrees.

That is all for now thanks for stopping by

Whatever happened to Captaine Steiger’s expedition on the Burning Sands? (TMWWBKs campaign)

Ambush on the Lahlafe
Before the relocation, Tonio and myself managed to finish of the Burning Sands campaign. But real world issues delayed it getting to the blog.

When Maurice went to sea (18th century colonial campaign) Part 1

Things a are bit slow on the hobby front at the moment. New job,new country seriously dents hobby time. Between the moving and down time stuck in various airports, bus terminals I have been pondering a campaign linking Sails of Glory with Maurice and possible Sharp Practice later on.

Ideally, the campaign needs three dedicated participants an umpire and two players representing the main fractions. It could run with two players but would lose a little fog of war. Alternatively one players could be a aggressor and the player umpire represent the defender and has half the forces but start in control of the islands. At a pinch it could be done solo using the solo rules for sails of glory and adapting the solos rule from The Men Who Would be Kings by osprey games

It's war in the Burning Sands (TMWWBKs campaign)

Tonio looks bemused one minute, he is innocently inquiring if anybody is available for a game at the club next week, next thing he is drafted into the French Foreign Legion promoted to captain and sent of a campaign for a “couple” of months.  In my defence the Burning Sands project is nearly done (ignore does blisters on the back shelf) with one unit, the Tuareg Machine gun, left to paint.

All at sea with the Post Captain

Post Captain
I have been itching to try an Age of Sail game for a couple of years now. Arguable it can one of the most complex games you can play since you are not only playing against an opponent actively out to ruin your day you also must consider the environment which is oblivious to your existence.  To make is slightly more complicated I was looking for a relatively low intensity game ie I did not want to re-fight Trafalgar nor did I not want to be in charge of the flagship of the fleet. I am more interested in the frigates and lower rating ships that are more likely to see action and possible link up to a Sharp Practice or Maurice game.
