A very rare person to person game during the event. Blue force has successful executed a raid in Red territory and now is racing to get across the river before it is overrun. The scenario is adjusted from a Wargames Annual. The original concept came from Barry Hilton and was based on the siege of Limerick and Sarsfield's raid on Williamite Siege train. An additional appeal is the chance to use two hundred plus cavalry miniatures on a six by eight foot table (or some reason I think about the Major Dundee movie when I read about the event). Plus I get chance to try out Musket and Tomahawks version 2.
Red Cavalry column marches on the battlefield |
Blue column marches towards the river |
Many horses |
Red forces closes in on Blue |
Red units start to bottleneck the Blue column |
Cavalry clash |
A reduced Blue unit slips past the Red forces and makes a break for the bridge |
Red and Blue clash on the banks of the river |
Locals show up and are not happy with Blue cavalry crossing their land |
More angry locals show up |
Blue's rear-guard try to hold off their pursuers |
Main clash winds down with Blue line being broken |
Loot wagon making a break for it |
Blues Vanguard try to find a ford to cross the river (the wolves are potential crossing points) |
Go that way |
Blue's dragoons move to block the red pursuit |
Red's Huzzars move to counter the counter |
In the end the Blue column could not find the passage across the river and Red force eventually overwhelmed the column. Musket and Tomahawks was okay but not great for the game
That is all for now thanks for stopping by.

I always love the sense of of scale in these games đ
Hi Franco
It shines in smaller scales. I think the next project may be in 10mm. Smaller scales seems bigger for some reason.
