Fighting retreat at El Perez with Maurice

Americanica Army moving to its winter quarters
After a lull in conventions I managed to get around to organising a big game with the militia. Skirmish games are great fun but sometimes it is nice to try something big. In the end I opted to try the fighting retreat from El Perez from the Black Powder 1st edition rulebook using Maurice.  I really like the mechanics but was a little concerned about adapting Black Powder scenarios.  Black Powder has multiple commanders who can give orders while Maurice only has one general. He can move more freely but it take more effort to get him to cover the entire army so it could be a little frustrating when you wanted to move everything, but can only move a portion. But since it affects both sides it should even out.   Richard kindly volunteered to take command of the Americana force with its army withdrawing to its winter quarters. The army is accompanied by its baggage including the general's mistress.  While I assumed command of the Britainium army intending to destroy the army before it can retreat.

Americana on the March
Britianium army moves to engage

The rear and Van guards start to clash

Brtiainium vanguard overruns the rearguard and starts to capture the convoy
Americana Vanguard final overcomes a small force guarding the crossing and creates a bridge head
Apart from the Vanguard only the Americana General and his mistress escape the battlefield

That is all for now thanks for stopping by
